SNOW!!

There maybe snow on the ground, but don't let it put you off a visit to Stratford Upon Avon. The old building look truely magical with snow capped roofs and new park looks a picture.

It's also time to bag a bargin as many of the shops still have their sales running.

So don't delay, come and visit before the snow melts away.....

Christmas in Stratford Upon Avon.

This year the lights look fantastic. The turn on off the lights was low attended affair, but it was one of the first chances to see Father Christmas during his first visit to Stratford. I'll publish some photos soon.

Head to Stratford on one of the next 4 Thursday evenings, when the Christmas markets will line the streets and many of the shops will stay open late. Parking is also free in Council Car Parks.

Music Festival

Another event becoming a regular affair in Stratford upon Avon is the week long music festival. A week of musical celebration across various venues across Stratford. The highlight of the week I'd suggest was John Kirpatrick performing Folk type music at the Cox's yard - Fantastic!!!

Food Festival

The Food Festival took place this weekend in Stratford and it was food fantastic!

The entire recreation ground was given over to tents and a few large marques all of which we're full of food displays and selling mostly local produce. The extra advantage was that many of the stands were providing samples of their food, yum!! Of particular note was were the homemade Game Pies and Sausages from Ragley Hall.

It wasn't just food however, there was also live music performed on the bandstand, which carried on into the evening - giving a friendly party atmosphere.

The only problem with the show was it's populatory, and parking in particular was a problem, and related traffic on all the approach roads. I do really suggest on such busy days, you use the excellent park and ride - sign posted on all approaches to Stratford on Avon from the A46.

The plan is to hold the show yearly - make sure you're there next year.

Stratford Upon Avon - Introduction.

Welcome! Stratford upon Avon is a wonderful town, enjoyed by thousand of tourists every year and inhabited by some very luck residents - and past residents such as William Shakesphere himself.

However there is a lot more to Stratford than just William S and I'm proud to live here. I look forward to sharing my latest thoughts on the town and information about what's going on, which I hope will be of interest to residents and tourists alike. I hope readers will leave their comments and share their own experiences.
